Beta Spore was probably the coolest looking game in existence, I really reccomend you guys go take a peek if you haven't seen beta footage of Spore yet. If we get Spore 2 it better be more similar to the version we saw at those E3s. and frankly in many ways I wish Will Wright had more creative control, because HIS idea for the game was far more interesting. none of the visionaries who could make Spore 2 good would still be in it. Still wish they would make a Spore 2 but at the same time. But it wasn't the runaway success they wanted and went FAR over budget. I thought Spore actually made back its money and then some. you don't really believe that even if someone is building one, that EA would allow the port? Rather there will be world peace or God himself will walk the earth holding hands with Luzifer before we see a Spore 2. Originally posted by DaringJes:No, Spore was a financial desaster in the eyes of EA. Of course, no one believed him, but he's on the record saying so. Maxis spent somewhere around $20 million making the game, and marketing was another $20-30 million on top of that.Īnd Will Wright stated several times that EA did not rush him to release Spore or demand he change it for a "wider audience". EA never released any hard numbers, but best estimates say they sold about 2 million copies across all platforms. ![]() ![]() but it hasn't come anywhere close to justifying itself for a sequel. Or rather it wasn't a financial disaster in EA's eyes. Every decision you or your civilization makes will have consequences.Originally posted by Neonivek:I thought Spore actually made back its money and then some. We aim to provide you with an unique experience unlike any of the god games you have played before. Because every EA game since 2013 has had both of those features. Expect always-online DRM and microtransactions. ![]() EA hasn't sold any of their products on Steam for many years now (the last was a Sims 3 DLC in Oct 2013). These are living, breathing worlds where everything is interconnected. 1 MinionJoe 6:19am Spore 2, if it happens, will be an Origin exclusive. What mark will you leave on the ecosystems that existed millions of years before your arrival? Will you use every available resource and expand at an unprecedented pace, or will you methodically create a more sustainable way of life for your civilization? It’s your mission to manage how the Nuggets collect and utilize resources. A lack of trees and high levels of pollution will raise the global temperature over time, while reckless hunting or fishing might cause the extinction of some species. Every tree your civilization cuts down, every resource they mine and every animal they hunt will affect the world they’re living in. Planets in The Universim aren’t just made up of a bunch of neatly-arranged objects everything is linked together and plays a unique role in each planet’s ecosystem. With the inclusion of a full, four-season cycle, a planet’s biomes can change drastically, making it extremely difficult for Nuggets to survive brutal winters without proper preparation ahead of time. Daytime offers a little more safety from the harshness of the world. Wild animal attacks are more common at night, as are frequent temperature drops. That said, i bought the original 3 games on sale for 10 in total (yes 83 off in steam). So, total bummer you need to drop an extra 10. its the servers rejecting the registration from all the other games Spore, Creepy&Cute, Galactic Adventures. Something as simple as the cycle between night and day can play an important role. It appears the original CD Key issue isn't really the issue for many players today. Some planets are tranquil and filled to the brim with resources, while others are barren and dangerous. ![]() Each planet you encounter will have a unique underbelly. If you treat nature poorly, it might just show you how brutal and unforgiving it can be. From tornadoes that consume everything in their path, to thunderous earthquakes that threaten to split your civilization in two. Every planet comes with a few surprises that are sure to challenge your civilization. In The Universim, nature is just as wonderful and unpredictable as ever.
